Podcasts : a joint project by the BPP Legal Awareness Society and the BPP Commercial Awareness Society. These Societies are independent student-run Societies, by BPP students.

Harry (President of the BPP Commercial Awareness Society) will then invite you by email. It’s possible we’ll have to record more than one podcast, as there’s a lot of people who wish to be involved according to the response so far.

We will be recording the first set of podcasts from 2 pm on Thursday 24 November 2011. We will be meeting in the Student Cafe of BPP Holborn in the Basement floor, from then. However, we’ve had a big response to this, so unfortunately it’s not feasible for you just to turn up on the off-chance. You’ll have to email correspondence@lasmeetings.org in advance
The podcasts will be about 10-15 minutes each. The aim is to explain the importance of the law for businesses, and vice versa, in a friendly manner suitable for any member of the general public to understand.
The podcasts will be published immediately on the popular http://www.legal-aware.org blog. We’d be more than happy, of course, if you were selected to be a podcast presenter, for you to put down the recordings as examples of teamwork and commercial awareness in corporate training contract or vacation placement application forms.
We don’t have any particular topics in mind, and we’ll be prepared to talk about anything you wish to discuss. Harry and I have a very good working knowledge of law firms, commercial law and law news between us. You might like to have a look at recent online editions of the Gazette, Lawyer, or the Lawyer, to prepare. An example of a possible topic, suggested so far, is whether court proceedings in England should be televised.
The BPP Legal Awareness Society is a very active society, complementary to the BPP Legal Awareness Society. It is driven by a need to discuss corporate strategy as relevant to lawyers, and you can join us here only if you’re a current student at BPP, or accepted a place to study at BPP:
