The New Arbitration Ordinance will come into operation on 1 June 2011.

One of the principle features of the ordinance is that it removes the distinction between domestic and international arbitrations under the current Arbitration Ordinance, creates a unitary regime based on the UNCITRAL Model Law and disposes of the domestic arbitration provisions.
