Last night, I gave a brief presentation about media pluralism, the Broadcasting Acts, “the-fit-and-proper” test, and recent European Commission moves in this direction. We also discussed the importance of the OFT and the Competition Commission (from the BPP LegalAware video on competition here), and how Prof Michael Porter from Harvard University views his contribution of “The Five Forces” to the business world (here). The topics of competition in our study of markets and marketing, as well as in strategy and organisations, have already been comprehensively discussed as part of the compulsory modules in our full-time BPP MBA course this year. Our final meeting this term is in a fortnight’s time (on Wednesday).
